LONDON LONGINGS: A Memoir. A new country. A new start. But will she find new love? Imagine making a vow to God in the aftermath of your marriage breakup and then forgetting all about it. But what if God doesn’t? What if He fulfils his part and in a way you weren’t expecting? Desperate for a new start after her abusive husband deserts her—not once but twice—Leanne leaves New Zealand to rebuild her life in London, England. She fills her days with teaching and travel but still the longing to be remarried persists. As the years go by, her hope fades and she reluctantly makes plans for a future without love. However, with the emergence of online dating, she cannot resist taking one last chance and places an advertisement with an international agency. The reply she receives leads to the fulfilment of God’s part of the bargain but what will Leanne’s response be? Will she keep her vow?

About The Writer

Leanne Minton

Leanne Minton

LEANNE MINTON grew up in rural New Zealand and developed a love for writing and the outdoors. When her first marriage ended, she moved to the UK. Through a series of God-incidents, four years later she made a trip to Canada, the one country she’d decided never to visit. There she met Phil and eighteen months later they married. While living in Jasper Leanne had the opportunity to accompany her park warden husband on his horseback patrols into the backcountry. From these trips came her travelogue, Blue Creek Bride. When Phil retired, they moved to New Zealand and in 2025 Leanne self-published her second book, a memoir called London Longings. Leanne enjoys reading, history, gardening, and going to the movies.
